ACHIEVING 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY IN PRODUCTION
At Menderes Tekstil, we believe the foundation of our existence and strength stems from nature. Like every individual and company utilizing natural resources, we are aware of our responsibilities toward nature, which provides us with the opportunity to create value. The growing global demand and the limited nature of the world’s resources inspire us to protect and sustain these resources that are the source of our business and existence.
With the European Green Deal, it was announced that transformative policies will be developed within the framework of combating the climate crisis, environmental protection, and the green economy. Menderes believes that we will make significant contributions to accelerating the transition to clean, economic, and secure energy supply and sustainable transportation models, in line with the goal of becoming the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050.
A prime example of this is our rooftop Solar Energy Plant, which we fully launched in 2022, and the subsequent investment in 2024 that enables Menderes Tekstil to generate one-third of its electricity consumption from renewable energy sources.
We would like to share with our stakeholders that, in addition to this, we have been proudly neutralizing our Scope 2 carbon emissions since 2021 through IREC certification, ensuring that our production is powered by 100% renewable electricity.
